Last night I ascended at the Alison Wonderland show. It was a sold out Friday night at Brooklyn's Avant Gardner; a stop on Wonderland's headlining North American tour. The venue was packed, the crowd was serving their best looks, and the energy buzzing throughout the space felt nothing short of euphoric.
Kicking off the show was Quiet Bison followed by DJ Callie Reiff and a stellar set by EVAN GIIA. The crowd started loosening up as balloons, beach balls and glitter bounced around throughout the night. It was finally time for what we've all been anxiously waiting for and as the room went pitch black, the fans went wild chanting "Al-is-on!" She took the stage and as the first beat drop pulsed through my body, everything felt electric.
Her silhouette shadowed by epic visuals turned her performance into an electronic fever dream land. Covering everything from her top hits to new material, the performance was everything the crowd (and myself) wanted it to be and more. Alison Wonderland's newest album Loner will be out May 6th and is available for pre-order here. After the sold out show they added another night (4/16) so Brooklyn folks, make it out if you can! You won't regret it.
