New York-based artist Syd Silvair has just released her debut single “Obsidian.” The song comes from her upcoming EP, of which each track is inspired by a different tarot card. “Obsidian” draws from the Moon Card in particular and depicts a confused state of love, where one cannot determine whether the relationship is “the curse” or “the cure.” A dark and enchanting track, “Obsidian” features a unique combination of sounds. It is moody, yet disco and folk inspired. Reminiscent of a witchier Stevie Nicks, Syd Silvair crafts memorable lyrics and delivers them with a sultry and powerful voice.
